Yugo or RPK 1.5mm Receiver Flat Progress
Sunday Aug 9th:
Here are a few pictures of my prototype flats. The prototypes were made like a 7.62 RPK since the magwell dimples would have to be different than the dies I've already bought for the 1mm magwell dimples. Friday the 7th I ordered the new dies for the dimples and will be having final prototypes made in approximately three weeks.
The trigger holes on both sides of the receiver will need to be undersized by quite a bit. The 7mm hole will need to be drilled then reamed after bending since it's too close to the bend.
The prototype was bent without trimming the upper rails which will be done on my CNC equipment on the production flats. The inner die was a new piece since the standard receivers are wider on the inside. The base used was the original flat jig base, but a newer beefier setup will make a much better receiver.
